常用的照明电光源有:白炽灯(即普通灯泡)、荧光灯(日光灯)、卤钨灯、高压水银灯、金属卤化物灯等,根据光源的工作原理可分为两大类:一类是热 光源,如白炽灯、卤钨灯等,另一类是光电光源,有气体放电灯,如氙灯,还有金属蒸汽灯,如水银灯(汞灯)和钠灯,放电光源按放电形式又可分为辉光放电和弧光放电,霓虹灯属于辉光放电,荧光灯、高压水银灯、钠灯等均属于弧光放电,下面简要介绍上述光源的结构、工作原理及使用方法。
